Thousands of teachers attend the World Teacher’s Day celebration at Enchanted Kingdom

More than five thousand teachers all-over the Philippines joined in the magical celebration of World Teacher’s Day at Enchanted Kingdom (EK) on October 5.  Aside from rides and attractions, they were also amused with the program jam-packed with the following activities: inspirational talks from distinguished speakers, fun games, and a raffle draw with exciting prizes and giveaways!

In celebration of World Teacher’s Day, all teachers who visited the park on the said date were entitled to a free Regular Day Pass (RDP) while their companions were given 19% discount. It was the first time that EK held this kind of special treat for teachers as EK Chief Operating Officer (COO) Dr. Cynthia Mamon believes that their noble profession deserves to be rewarded.

Masayang masaya [kami].” [As a teacher, I felt the importance that EK is giving to us through this program. Although we have so much workload every day, we were given one day and EK gave us so much importance. That’s why we are blessed. We are very happy.] — Arnold Elago, a teacher from Sto. Domingo National High School, was one of the teachers who attended the magical celebration at EK

EK showcased its edutainment program, which began with EK’s Animal Encounter show. Hosted by Isa Garchitorena, a licensed animal enthusiast, the show presented various kinds of animals — from birds (different types of owls) to reptiles (a variety of lizards, turtles, and snakes) accompanied by clear descriptions of how the animals lived in their natural habitat.

The teachers were provided inspirational talks given by two distinguished guest speakers, namely, Bro. Jonathan Yogawin, Feast builder under the Light of Jesus Family of Bo Sanchez, who spoke of “Being the Best” and  Efren Peñaflorida, 2009 CNN Hero of the Year, who talked about “TeacHERO: Every teacher is a hero.” Teachers also enjoyed having photo opportunities with these inspirational speakers.

Teachers enjoyed free products and services from the following sponsors: discounts from Shakes Station, food from DVK Philippines, assorted merchandise from Krishella’s, free massage from Lake Spa, products from Tommylyn’s, products from Texton, Perioe Toothpaste, Tupperware Brands Philippines, cosmetics from Mary Kay, Aficionado, Shepherd’s Voice Publications Inc., Globe, 1Concept Salon, and a raffle draw from Kia Motors, Sta Rosa, Laguna, providing free down payment for a car.

The day was made special with the celebration of Holy Mass at the Eldar’s tent before the new show, Enchanté: Race to Utopia. Other pocket events that entertained the teachers were a performance from Victoria’s Way, EK’s all-female vocal group, a mini-concert from JM de Guzman, and the elimination round for the Sky Wizardry Fireworks Competition, which featured two (2) of the local Filipino fireworks manufacturers, that concluded the night.
